5 FAB Friday

5 Things we are loving/wanting/dreaming of on this Friday

Its Superbowl Sunday weekend and we wanted to share with our readers some of the dishes we either love to eat or make for the Superbowl!

Stylish Mama:

1.

I love chili, my favorite is either chicken or turkey.  But why I think its a great game day food is because you can make it into a fun party food by adding a topping bar.  I love avocado, red onion or scallion, cheese, sour cream, tortilla chips, corn bread, and tabasco sauce for those who like it a little x-tra spicy

2.
Buffalo Chicken Nachos - by the girl who ate everything
If you remember from our last football post, I love me some buffalo chicken wings!  And I also love me some nachos.  So, when I saw this recipe posted by the girl who ate everything, I knew I had to try it!  I also think hubby and his friends would L-O-V-E this.  Points for me!  :)

3.

Now we all have our favorite drink or beer during the super bowl, whether it be alcoholic or not but for the HB and me, BLUE MOON all the way.  You can find endless mix drink recipes on Pinterest to cater to your guests, especially for the young crowd.  What do you like to drink?

4.

How does this look to you? This is our version of finger food, Colombian style.  It's a combination of different meats and starch.  It's a all goodness in one place! Just looking at this is making me hungry.  You can definitely make this at home but we usually just call our local Colombian restaurant and order based on the amount of people you want to feed.  This is plate is usually the first one to finish up at a gathering.  Wonder why?

5.

Ok and maybe the commercials and half time show!  :)  New England Patriots, there is always next year!  This year we enjoy food, friends and hopefully good commercials.  Hope you have fun and share with us what food you love to make or eat during the Superbowl!

Wrapping up January

January 30, 2014

(Note: I had written an awesome post and then lost it! Not a happy camper.  Will re-write for next week.  So let's chat for a bit.)

First month of the year will be over in two days and although time flies, January made its presence with the cold in most of the country.  Brrrrrr!! But I do have my special dates to get me motivated and survive this winter.

47 Days to Spring!

106 days to the Container Store opening in Rhode Island!

140 days to Summer!

Organizing Expo & Conference

January 28, 2014

This past Saturday I attended the National Association of Professional Organizers of New England Organizing Expo & Conference in Waltham, Massachusetts, (that was a mouthful).   Needless to say I was on cloud 9.  I took tons of notes like a good student. Learned so much and got so many ideas to start implementing in my life.  No worries I will share with you all what  I learned.  What I love about attending these seminars are the great ideas and useful information you receive.  Their ideas spark new ones in my head and it goes wild, trust me.

The day started by dropping off 4 storage boxes chuck full of old paperwork that I had cleaned up a few months ago.  The expo had on site vendors like a local Shredding Company.  They only charged us $5 a box which I found totally reasonable.  Make sure to look at your local city/town for shredding options.  Some places will hold shredding events for free or a low cost.  Just make sure you investigate thoroughly the company that is being used so you are satisfied and at ease that your personal data is being disposed of properly.

The conference held a total of 8 different workshops, but due to scheduling and space, I had to really decide which ones I would attend because workshops were being done simultaneously.  Choosing was the hard part but I have no regrets to the workshops I attended.  I was able to listen to three great topics.
  1. Got Photos?
  2. Digging Out from Under Your Paper Piles
  3. Organizing for Emergencies
I also checked out the Vendor Expo Hall where I met a couple of different vendors.  There was one vendor in particular that I have to say I fell head over heels for.  I will talk all about that vendor in a later post.  All I can say is that I have admired that product line for a long time but to actually have it in my hands, WHOA! (Just like Joey in the show Blossom!....come on! don't tell me I'm the only one that remembers that anymore)
Trust me, I had to really stop my drooling because I think I was embarrassing my HB.

I left that expo all pumped and ready to conquer the world, well, my home exactly.  That energy lasted about 20 minutes into the car ride home, when I completely passed out in the car.  I'm the worse co-pilot ever, I fall asleep in the car even if I've only been in there for five minutes.  But we will talk about that another time, getting back on track here, I loved my Saturday!

I can't wait to share with all of you what I learned this past weekend so make sure you keep reading our blog for the latest.

Happy Organizing!

Introducing Rags To Roses

January 27, 2014

A few months back I was contacted by a friend named Amanda who lives in the same area my husband grew up in upstate NY. She contacted me to tell me she is starting a jewelry line. But not just any old jewelry, its a really fun creative line of jewelry made from all recycled material!  And the stuff she makes is unique and all one of a kind.  If anyone knows me, I love unique things. Especially when it comes to fashion.  So I am excited to share with you some of her line.  She was gracious enough to send me a few pieces, and when I have worn them, I always get compliments.  So I asked if I could share them with all of our readers and she was delighted.

The line is called Rags to Roses and below you can see the two styles of necklaces she sent me.  One being beautiful rose like flowers on a pretty detailed fabric rope style chain.  And the other being layers of fabric (I likened to a scarf like necklace) braided onto a fabric rope style chain.

The best way to view more of Amanda and her sister in law's work is on Instagram.  She has an account you can view that has many pieces for sale with the amounts listed right under the photo. She can be found on Instagram by the username: RAGS2ROSESAT.

I suggest you head on over to her account on Instagram to take a peek.  I actually just bought my daughter a necklace as I couldn't help myself when I saw it...oh and thats right...don't let me forget to mention: she makes kids stuff too!  Girls necklaces, hair barrettes, and boys bow-ties.  And its all adorable!

Once you see an item you are interested in buying you can either message her on Instagram or email her with any questions or comments to:  rags2rosesbyamanda@yahoo.com

So there you have it, a new Stylish Mama Fave!

And last, but not least...make sure you keep an eye out for a giveaway later this week.  Two of the necklaces shown above are going to be up for a giveaway for two of our awesome readers!  I am so excited to able to share with you something I know any girl would love to have in her closet.

Love,

Stylish Mama

*thank you to Rags to Roses for the beautiful jewelry shown above
and to Marilyn (organized Chica) for the beautiful photos she took also shown in this post

5 FAB Friday

January 24, 2014

5 Things we are loving/wanting/dreaming of on this Friday during this frigid Polar Vortex of a winter we are having!

Stylish Mama:

1.
Micheal Kors Quilted Puffer Jacket
Although I always swore I wouldn't buy nor wear a PUFFER jacket...when I finally did buy my Micheal Kors Chocolate Brown down filled puffer jacket...I was happy I did.  Its warm, sort of cute, and functional in the New England region.  My best friend during the nasty polar vortex we have been experiencing! Hello Zero Degrees and Below, I will ward you off with my MK PUFFER!

2.
Hunter Fleece Insert Socks

Anyone else hate when your whole body can finally warm up but your tootsies remain ice cold!
Once my toes are cold, I can never really seem to be comfortable outside in the cold.  So when I discovered Hunter Boots makes fleece socks inserts...I bought the cream and now want to add every color shown above to my collection!  And I hate to admit it, but I also wear a pair of normal socks underneath these. Love it when my feet are warm and dry!

Organized Chica:

3.

Now these boots I would buy from UGG.  I LOVE white! These look warm and definitely heavy duty.  I'm getting ready for a trip to the mountains so I'm looking for the best attire to keep me warm but looking stylish!

4.

I've always wanted a Faux Fur White hat, warmth and elegance.  Maybe I can purchase one for my trip to the mountains, lets see.  I just feel it gives you the very feminine look but yet functional because it shields you from the cold.

5.  Stylish Mama meets Organized Chica:

It's scarf season so here are some ideas on how to style yours.  Try them out and tag us on Instagram to show us how you wear your scarf during the winter.

Happy Friday,

Setting up a quick savings plan

January 21, 2014

Who doesn't struggle to save money? I think we all can relate.  Or maybe you are a person that is financially stable and my hats off to you.  But there is always that one thing we want to either buy or do, like my trip to Fiji!!!! Who's with me? Ok! Ok! back to reality.  The point here is to create a quick savings plan.  There are endless options out there, and I'm sure a financial adviser wouldn't be too keen on this one but when a friend told me about it, I did my research and I'm loving it!

To my fellow Pinterest pinners, I'm sure you have seen this one before.  I couldn't find where this plan originated from, but so far, this is working for me.

I present to you the 52 Week Money Challenge: the idea is that for every week of the year, you set aside the amount corresponding to that number of the week. Example: Week 1 you save a $1, Week 2 you save $2, Week 3 you save $3.  At the end of week 3 you have a total of $6.  The goal is to have saved close to $1,400 at the end of the year.  There are many variations to this plan so pick which version you like and try it out.  Saving money never hurt anyone.

Are you with me?

Happy Savings!

5 Things we are loving/wanting/dreaming of on this Friday

Being that January is organization month, we decided we would do our 5 FAB Friday on some of our favorite organized items that make our lives easier and well...more organized!

Stylish Mama:

1.
Step 2 Desk
My three year old loves to do arts and crafts.  She especially enjoys coloring, and painting. We found it a challenge to keep my daughters art supplies all together in one neat organized fashion.  So just a few months ago we invested in a Step Two Desk system for her "office" which is right next to her daddy's work from home desk.  And believe me, its been worth every penny.  We love that her stuff is right there for to use whenever she wants, but it also is kept neat and tidy.  Gotta love training to be organized at this age!

2.
Pocket Over Door Shoe Organizer

A girl who loves shoes, has to to have a home for them right? This particular one shown above is from the Container Store. I bought mine years ago from a home store.  I really love this system as its easy to use and keeps me organized.  I use mine daily and actually need a new one as I have had mine for over a decade. The one I have has ripped in a few spots...that tells you how much I use it!  Time for a trip to the container store!

Organized Chica:

3.
PB Hampton Vanity Tower & Super Set

I have had my eye on this set for years now.  What is there not to love about it? It combines the two things that we are all about, STYLE and ORGANIZATION. Each tower has a set of 6 drawers and 2 adjustable shelves with your personal vanity in the middle.  Having your hair products/tools, makeup and accessories all in one place makes getting ready a snap.  I wish I could have this in my home.

4.
IKEA SKUBB Box Set of 6

Let me tell you that I love this product!! I use these in my organization projects.  What I love more is the price, $7.99!! Cha-ching! I use these inside my drawers to organize my socks and underwear.  These cloth boxes are gentle on your clothing so its perfect to use inside your drawers or closets to keep those small items contained.

Organizing: Family Calendar via COZI

January 16, 2014

You may have a family of two or a family of five, every single person in your household has a different schedule.  Between school, work, family activities, meetings and everything else that life throws at you, things can get hectic.  We all have those moments where you forgot to inform the rest of the family of some event or appointment you may have.

With endless technology nowadays, the possibilities are endless when it comes to a list of different programs or apps that you can use to organize your time efficiently.  For some families, an actual home calendar helps, for others, like myself, an app on my cell is a great help.

Personally, I use COZI.  This is an app and website that allows you to keep track of your family's hectic schedule using the shared calendar and to-do lists.

I love COZI because my family can enter in the calendar whatever activity or appointment they may have and I can see it right away from my cellphone.  Every member is color coded, including Bam Bam, my 11 month Yorkie.  You can also access this directly through their website.  Best part of it all, its FREE!

Note: this only works if you ACTUALLY use it! I say that because everyone in your family would have to be committed in entering their own appointments in the shared schedule for this to actually be a beneficial tool for your family.  Every week we get emails with a summary of all scheduled activities for the week.

Below I included a COZI Quick Demo so you can see all the features for yourself.  Who better to give you a tour if it isn't COZI themselves.

Happy Organizing,

Organized Chica - xox

*All opinions in this blog post are mine.  I was not paid or contacted by COZI to write this post.

Pinterest Dishes Tried and Proven Delish!

January 15, 2014

Any of you out there like me...always on the hunt for a great recipe to jazz up your menu at home?  I love to cook, but I also get bored easily of making the same thing over and over.

So for me, Pinterest is best tool for researching new and fun ideas. I love how on my Pinterest account I follow great inspirations like Martha, Jamie Oliver, Food Network. However,  I also love following food blogs to get those recipes that are tried and tested by other moms and housewives out there.

Recently I have actually tried out the recipes I have been pinning...and I have come to really love some of them.  So I figured I would share them with you all, cause they are just that good!  Today I share with you my new favorite breakfast meal.

And let me preface by saying...I am not a great breakfast line cook.
I can get breakfast made.  But this is a new go-to recipe that is sure to impress most - and best yet, its so effortless!

1. Huevos Rancheros Breakfast Sandwich

photo taken in my kitchen after I made this sandwich and before I had devoured it minutes later
Ingredients for making One (you can double, triple, and so on, per family needs)
  • 1 English Muffin
  • 1/4 cup re-fried beans
  • 1 Fried Egg
  • 1 tablespoon of shredded jack cheese
  • 1/2 ripe avocado
  • 2 tablespoons of salsa
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
Instructions
  1. While the english muffins are toasting, peel and pit the avocado and use a fork to mash it. Add salt to taste. Heat up refried beans till warm and spreadable in microwave. Spread half of the bean mixture on the bottom of each english muffin, then spread half of the avocado on the top of each english muffin.
  2. Heat a small non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Spray with olive oil. Crack egg into pan. Sprinkle with salt and pepper according to taste preferences. Let cook for 1-2 minutes, longer if desired, then carefully use a spatula to flip the eggs over. Season again with salt and pepper. Let cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, or longer if desired. Just make sure to add jack cheese during the last few seconds of cooking so it can get nice and melty on top of the egg.  Place the cooked egg on top of the english muffin that is covered in beans.
  3. Add  salsa on top of the egg, then place the avocado smeared (I added salt and a touch of lime to my avocado topping)  half of the english muffin on top.
Can I just tell you, the creaminess of the egg (I made mine a little under cook so it was a little runny in the middle)  and the creaminess of the avocado and beans...made this dish so intensely satisfying in the morning.  My husband is still asking me to make this each time I offer to make breakfast.  Which is not really that often, but might be more now that I have this recipe to fall back on, so easy and delish!

If there are any recipes you love to make that you found on Pinterest please share with us.  Organized Chica and I will hopefully be sharing more of our favorites as we test them out in our homes.

Happy Pinning, and Cooking!

Love, Stylish Mama

*the recipe was altered slightly from pinterest - added and changed a few of the ingredients from original recipe

Organization: setting and reaching your goals

January 14, 2014

"I will go to the gym"
"I want to spend more time with my family"
"I will work on my temper"

"I will start eating healthy"
"I will travel more"

...and the list continues.  We live with the mentality that a new year means a fresh start, erase all and start from zero.  Although it can be the case for some things in our lives, we shouldn't have to wait for a brand new year to set goals and work on achieving them.  Goals can be set at any point of our lives and we can make plans to work towards them.  Everyone is different and you have to ultimately do what works for you and your family.

Create a habit: You all know how much I love Pinterest.  Well I found this Pin that makes total sense.  I haven't tried it yet but I plan on incorporating this technique this month and let you know how it goes.  Its a way on how to help you form a habit.  The idea is that you write up and stick on a wall or somewhere visible, 21 or more sticky notes or page markers.  Once you complete the new habit you want to start incorporating in your life, i.e. working out, you remove a sticky note.  Its a visual helping aid.  You can't reach your goal, i.e. working out, if you don't start a habit of actually doing it.

source

Personally, if I say that this year I will do something, its probably not going to happen, for many reasons.  I'm looking at a whole year in front of me so I will keep postponing it to later. (Oh, I'll do that later or I'll do that this summer)  Sound familiar? This is why setting deadlines to your goals will help.  You are more prone to following through with your goal if you just concentrate on a game plan for the next month or the next 3 months, instead of the entire year, which can be overwhelming.

Also, breaking down your goals would be more realistic, which goes hand in hand with deadlines.  Example: you want to start eating healthy, well start on your breakfast.  Plan your meals, swap your fast food breakfast for a smoothie in the morning and try that for a week or two.  Once you are in a habit of having a healthy breakfast, start planning your lunches and snacks and so forth.

To make a dramatic change all at once can be more stressful on you then gradually making changes.

Lastly, share your goals with friends/family if you feel comfortable with that.  Nowadays with social media, you can publicly post your progress and get great encouragement from your loved ones.  This will help you stick to your goal.

Here's a recap and a few more pointers:

Feel free to share your goals with us, we would love to hear them and provide encouragement.

Happy Organizing!!

Apple Cider Vinegar for beautifying ourselves inside and out

January 13, 2014

I know you are thinking...did I just read that right?
Apple Cider Vinegar and Beautifying? Really?

Well the answer is - Yes! You did!
But, not just any apple cider...today we are talking about the many benefits of Bragg apple cider vinegar. Which is an organic product that is full of enzymes and minerals that help our bodies from the inside - out.

Many of the awesome benefits of Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar

1. maintain healthy skin
2. promotes a healthy body
3. soothes irritated skin
4. relieves muscle pain from exercise (gotta exercise to keep young and beautiful!)
5. promotes ph Balance
6. supports a healthy immune system
7. makes hair shiny
8. helps de-tangle hair
9. helps control weight
10. helps strip hair of any impurities

Got your attention?

Here are some ways I have incorporated Bragg's Apple Cider in my beauty routine:

Apple Cider Vinegar Morning Cleanse/Detox

Ever wake up feeling sluggish?  Or maybe inspired to shed some weight - when you have gained a few unwanted pounds?  Then try this in the morning first thing before eating any food for the day...I will guarantee you will feel better and it helps curb your appetite from eating too much later in the day.

1 cup of hot water (I put my tea kettle on first thing when I wake up to get my water nice and hot for this)
2 tablespoons of  Braggs apple cider
honey to sweeten (I usually use very little to keep calories low)

*if you have a cold, or the flu, use this same mixture except with lemon slices and a garlic clove...it will help clear out your sinuses and soothe and coat your throat.

Apple Cider Vinegar Skincare Toner

Apple Cider Vinegar has the ability to regulate the ph of our skin.  It can help strip our skin of any oils/dirt.

Take a cotton ball and soak it with the apple cider vinegar as you would for any other toner bought at your drug store.  Much more healthier and purifying to help keep our skin feeling clean and fresh!

Apple Cider Vinegar Hair Rinse

Perfect for you ladies with long lovely locks that might get tangled here and there or those who need a little shine added to your dull hair.

This is more so for my daughter who has the long locks in my house at the moment. (seeing that I chopped all my hair off this year)

Apple cider vinegar removes build up or residue from those products we put in our hair.  It can also leave you hair smooth and shiny as it helps close the cuticle of the hair, which makes light refelct off of it...leaving it shiny!

1 part apple cider vinegar
1 part water

Its best to leave it in your hair for a few minutes so it can work its magic.  Rinse fully before applying any needed conditioner.  I tend to rinse with cool/cold water to also help lock those cuticles to add even more shine.

Hope these little beauty secrets interest you more into buying this amazing organic product.  You can find this product in most super markets (in the vinegar isle).  But I also have known people to order it on Amazon.

Love,  Stylish Mama

5 Fab Friday

January 10, 2014

5 Things we are loving/wanting/dreaming of on this Friday

Are you ready to watch some football??!!  Big game tomorrow for our local team the New England Patriots. I think its fair to say both Organized Chica and Stylish Mama are not huge football fans, however we do enjoy a good football game party!  And we support our local team here in New England! Football party time has arrived!

Stylish Mama:

1.
Who says football gear has to be for guys only? There are some seriously cute items out there for us ladies to sport at any football game party! And some cute sparkly festive nails makes it ultra girly!

 2.
Buffalo Wings, yum!  I am such a wing fan, I love all kinds...but football = buffalo wings, plus I think they pair really well with a nice cold margarita!

Organized Chica:

3.
Gillette Stadium - Home of the New England Patriots.  Nothing says home like our stadium, this place is amazing.  Had the privilege of going to the stadium for different events.  I was able to walk the field and get behind the scene walk of certain sections.  This stadium is one of a kind.

4.

If I'm going to wear a jersey, why not do it in style?  I was just eyeing the ProShop, very cute things for the female fans.  It even has sequins...a little bling bling won't do any harm.  Who says you can't look cute in sporty clothes?

January is National Get Organized (GO) Month

January 9, 2014

One of my highlights of my Winter, (besides that my Summer countdown begins), is that this month is fully focused on Organization. Of course,  I don't need a specific month to get organized but its a good jump start for many. My goal with this blog is to offer you organization tips and share my projects with you throughout the year along with other subjects that may interest you.  But seeing that the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO) has named January, National Get Organized Month, all month long I will be trying to focus solely on organizational posts.

I will be showing you how organization can be applied to almost every aspect of your life. Lets see if we can start a little challenge as well.

Topics to come this month:
  • Reaching your goals
  • A quick money saving plan idea
  • Planners
  • Donation tracking
.... and much more. Feel free to comment below requesting specific topics that you would like to read on.  This definitely will motivate me to keep on track and implement new strategies that I have been working on.

So are you with me? Let's Plan! Simplify! and Organize!

Happy Organizing and stay warm,

Organized Chica - XOX

I created a home collection board below with some of my favorite items from their fabulous home collection.

Items pictured above can be found at Zara Home
(items are listed as pictured above from left to right)

So if you are looking for home decor that makes a statement, Zara is the place to visit.

Happy Shopping!

We are back!! ...and we are answering some questions too!

January 7, 2014

Questionnaire : A Little About US.  We noticed we love to talk about what we love…but we do little talking about ourselves in most of our posts.  So in order to kick our blog back into full mood we decided we would do a little fun questionnaire about ourselves.  And hopefully we don’t bore you with the facts!  Hope you had a nice winter break.

We missed blogging!!!

1. What is your dream job?
Stylish Mama: A toss-up between a Food Critique or Personal Shopper.  My two favorite hobbies in life are eating and shopping.  So to be paid to do either…would be FAB!

Organized Chica: I have always been a hands-on type of chica.  Love creativity and design.  Since I was very little I wanted to be an Interior Designer.  I was very close in choosing that as my career but made a last minute change of plans and majored in Technology instead.  I do regret not sticking to my original dream, therefore, I've made it my goal to make some of those dreams come true now as adult.

2. What is your favorite fragrance for Winter?
Stylish Mama: Right now I am loving Bombshell by Victoria Secret.  I found this scent last time I went shopping for lingerie and well…wasn’t so successful in that dept that trip…but Victoria Secret never disappoints with either their fragrance line or their PINK line – can always find something besides undergarment attire. And a beautiful fragrance can be just as sexay!

Organized Chica: My perfumes or body sprays have to be very light and fresh smelling due to sensitivity to scents causing migraines.  Therefore, once I find a scent (which is hard to do) I have to marry it.  I love Versace Crystal or Gucci Rush 2.  Now will you ever smell them on me, NOPE! Why? Because I could pour the entire bottle on me and the scent will not stick to me.  I'm not fortunate like others where you can smell them as they pass by, nope, not me.  So that being said, I hardly use perfumes.

3. How do you take your tea/coffee?
Stylish Mama: Coffee – I take it with skim milk and two splenda.  Tea is skim milk and two and half sugars.

Organized Chica - Ummm...well neither! I know I'm weird.  Tea tastes like dirty water to me and coffee would just send me racing to the hospital so I stay away from it.  My body doesn't like the caffeine.  I like to drink hot Apple Cider or Aguapanela (its a Colombian drink).

4. What is your most important beauty secret?
Stylish Mama: I have to shampoo my hair twice in a row when washing my hair, I can never just do it once…otherwise it’s not clean enough.  I also have to moisturize once out of the shower. My favorite is Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizer.

Organized Chica: I apply Tiny Hands from Lush on my feet every night to keep them moisturized, can't stand cracked feet.  I typically don't eat after 6 or 7 o'clock to avoid unhealthy weight.

5. If you could only have breakfast, lunch, dinner or desert foods for the rest of your life, what would you pick?
Stylish Mama: Really?  How can I just pick one meal…didn’t you read question #1?  I would guess I would say lunch.  I am not a morning person…so that means I don’t usually eat much in the early part of the day. But by lunch time, I am ready for a warm delicious meal.  (oh, but I would still miss dinner so much!)

Organized Chica: If you know me, you will know that I can't pick just one.  I can stuff my face for breakfast, still be hungry for lunch and then come home for dinner.  I'm Latin! I eat big portions by nature and you can't forget the sweets.

6. What item of clothing do you love to wear in winter but wouldn’t be seen wearing it in public?
Stylish Mama: Ha! this question made me giggle.  I would have to say my fleece light blue pj bottoms,  that have some bleach stains on the legs from wearing them when I have cleaned my house and had a lazy pj day…well let’s face it, every cold winter day spent at home is a lazy pj day!

Organized Chica:  I gotta say that I don't think I have any clothing that I wouldn't want to be seen in but my face and hair is a different story.  Once I remove my makeup, put my hair in the highest, messiest bun and swap my contacts for glasses, doesn't matter what I'm wearing, I look totally unacceptable for the public eye.

7. If you had an all expenses paid vacation to get out of this cold winter weather, where would you go?
Stylish Mama: Dubai!  Have you seen this amazing city!?  The Atlantis here would be my resort of choice…but I would have to visit all the shopping malls and ski down the indoor ski resort mountains.  Such a creative and beautiful city – and an amazing skyline!

Organized Chica: My list of vacation spots is endless but one place that has always been on my radar is Fiji! Who wouldn't want to go to Fiji? I don't even have to describe it because there are not words for it. Its stunning! One day when I grow up, Ill go.
8. If you could wear only one piece of jewelry for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Stylish Mama: Wedding band – hello!  So sentimental but also makes me feel closer to my hubby.  Besides the obvious I would say my silver ball Tiffany earrings.  Such a classic addition to any outfit, dressy or casual.

Organized Chica: Earrings! I feel totally naked without them.  I actually keep them on day and night.

9.  Are you a fan of UGG boots?
Stylish Mama: YES!  I own two pairs, grey and chestnut brown.  There is nothing like a warm cozy pair of Uggs for those nasty winter blue days.  However…there is a time and place for UGGS, and will never be mixed with my Sunday’s best!

Organized Chica: I wouldn't say I'm a fan but yea they are cool.  Would I spend the money on them, no way! I have some good imitation boots that serve their purpose and I paid a fraction of the price.  It really drives me crazy when I see girls wearing deformed UGGs, you know what I'm talking about, the shoe sole is off to one side and its just freaky looking!
10. What made you start a blog?
Stylish Mama: I met a great friend who encouraged me to express my “creative” thoughts and ideas.  I have always had a love for fashion and cooking and home decorating…and to know that others care about what I have to say about those things is kind of neat!  In a way,  I am also doing this for myself…just a way to express oneself and feel like your scratching the itch of creativity!

Organized Chica: Had the itch to start one a while back but finally did it when Stylish Mama agreed to jump into this journey together with me.  Its a creative outlet for me, although it does require a lot more time and energy than what I thought it would, its still worth.  To hear your friends tell you that they miss reading your posts and that your part of their day, its just so encouraging.
