weekend recap...

Here we are - Monday, Monday!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. All you New Englanders probably enjoyed the warmer and sunnier weather the weekend gave us!  I know we did!

Friday nite we made plans for a girls night out after work.  We work in Providence, RI and we are surrounded with lots of great places to eat.  Our friend Sheree told us about a deal she often takes advantage of after work on a Friday.  That being the buy any drink get a free appetizer at Mediterraneo Caffe from 3-5pm during the week.  We ordered cocktails and enjoyed Stuffed Mushrooms (stuffed with seafood stuffing) Calamari, and Shrimp Scampi.

So delish!!  Best part was the bill, so affordable.
This is definitely added to our must list for Providence!

Funny thing is my husband went to Providence this weekend as well for a guys nite with his friends...and the best part was that he brought me home my favorite dessert.  A slice of the most delicious fruit tart made by Pastiche Bakery in Fed Hill, Providence.

I also was able to get out in my yard this weekend.  I love yard work!  So happy to get out there and clean up some of the winter debris as well as spot the flowers and trees budding in my yard.  Spring makes this mama happy!

I adore this Coach bleecker mini satchel - the studded leather is kind of punk rock meets sophisticated downtown chic. I am loving this ecru shade for spring as well.

Love me a maxi skirt for the spring and summer.  They are not only stylish and fun, but best part is that they are super comfortable!  I love how this skirt is flowy and pleated.  I saw this skirt in person and am now tempted to buy it. Coach: Sterling Feather Wrap Ring

In case you didn't know, I love anything and everything with leaves or a feather pattern.  When I saw this ring, I was in la-la land!! Can I please have it?!

Let me tell you that this place has the BEST STEAK TIPS! I first tried their food with my friend Sheree and I loved it so much I had to go back.  If you are in the Walpole or Norwood area, YOU NEED TO TRY IT!!!

Ready? Set....Go! Time is Ticking

I can get easily distracted when I'm doing a task, whether I spend way too much time on a particular thing or something else just captures my attention and I loose my focus.  I find what works for me is my wonderful plain white timer.  Its small but its so valuable to me.

When I want to complete a task within a specified time frame, I'll set my timer and focus on what I want to accomplish.  I have to say that this works for me all the time.  I've been able to do a regular cleaning of my house in one hour with the help of the HB.  He may not be too keen on the idea of the timer but he knows that when I set that puppy, its Speedy Gonzalez time! Trust me, when you get to enjoy the rest of your night because you completed that one daunting task within a reasonable time frame, you will be happy.

My challenge to you today is set your timer, whether its your kitchen timer, your cellphone timer, anything.  Set it for any amount of time you may need, try anything between 5 minutes to 15 minutes and complete a task during that time and when the timer stops, you stop.  Try to stop, sometimes its just a matter of getting started on a task and then you don't want to step away from what you are doing.  The idea here is that if we use our time wisely, we can accomplish those tasks that we find so dreadful.

Here are a few ideas on what you can accomplish in 5 minutes:

• Clean out your purse
• Open/Sort mail
• Fold a load of laundry
• Clean your surfaces
• Wash your toilet and bathroom sink
• Write a Thank You card to a friend
• Plan your work outfit for the next day
• Pay a bill
• Tidy up a room in your house

I'm sure you will think of more ideas.  

So are you ready? Set.....Go!

Anyone else love statement necklaces as much as I do?
